In my dreams are beautiful wood paneled rooms filled wth nothing but books and plants potted in matte green jardinieres like this one! What could be better?! I think I'd plant this one with a mock orange or little lemon tree, whose white buds then bright fruit would make the green seem all the richer. So pretty.
I am pretty certain this was made by Weller, c. 1920s. These were made using molds and vary based on how many times the mold had been used; here, the patterning is quite sold edged, telling us it had already been well used. Plenty of irregularities, glaze drips, etc. which is part of what I love about these. Glaze crazing as evident and one dark spot as documented, I believe indigenous to it, but no chips, cracks or other issues.
7 1/2 diameter, 6 1/8" t; interior of lip measures 6 3/4" across.
