Knights of Pythias 1912 + 1924 Secret Codes Handbooks!

Regular price $18.00

I'm not quite sure what use one would have for the secret codes of the Knights of Pythias from a hundred years ago or so, but between their intriguing covers to the instructions for the secret passwords to be whispered for admission to the lodge rooms, I couldn't pass them by The codes and rituals detailed are pretty elaborate and honestly rather challenging for the un-initiated (me!) to make sense of, but they definitely spark the imagination, and make one (me) think it would be pretty fun to introduce some secret codes into daily life!

(The Order of Knights of Pythias, an international, non-sectarian fraternity, was founded in Washington, DC, by Justus H. Rathbone, in 1864. The K of P, as they are known, became the first fraternal organization to receive a charter under an act of the US Congress after careful investigation by President Abraham Lincoln.)

5 7/8" x 3 3/8" x 1/8". 12 printed pages each plus blank endpapers. The content in both seems pretty much the same though I have not read every word! Yellow paper pages in the blue one and pink in the green one. The green cover shows discoloration in kind of an interesting geometric pattern and a little wear on back. Otherwise clean, very good condition. Price is for the pair.
