1930s Art Deco Style Bellhop

Sale price $55.00 Regular price $70.00

Though I didn't know it when I found him, I've since learned that this bellhop was produced in conjunction with a Philip Morris cigarette advertising campaign launched in 1933,  and would once have carried either a bundle of cigarettes in one hand and a book of matches in the other (or else a cruet set; there were a couple of different versions produced, and I believe they were often displayed on hotel bars.) His baggage is long since gone, leaving his hands free now to carry all sorts of other things, though I think I prefer him empty handed!  Others of these I have seen, which seem to have become quite collectible things, are red and gold; it seems possible this guy once was too but lost most of the red; I like him better for it as he has a folkier look.

5 7/8" t x 2 5/8" w x 3 3/8" d and in very good condition, with a bit of gold paint loss/rusting to the base.
