The paint on this one made me swoon when I spotted it at one of my favorite shops just over the Vermont border last week--photos do no real justice to the richness of color and surface. An unusual one in terms of form, too, in my experience--with a recessed lip to the turned lid that fits inside the bentwood box--perfectly snug and tight, with the lid lying perfectly flat. A beauty of a yellow underside too. SO pretty. Late 19th century or so.
6 1/8" in diameter (lid) x 2 9/16" tall. Gorgeous paint, beautiful surface. There is a little splitting around the bottom two nails, as documented--pretty minor, and stable, but just to be aware of.
