1906 Jones McDuffee & Stratton, Boston Pottery Merchants Wedgwood Tile with Calendar

Regular price $48.00

Though one might not have a lot of practical use for a 1906 calendar, I sure think it is a beautiful one, and what a smart and lovely thing for Jones McDuffee and Stratton Pottery Merchants to have gifted to its patrons to remember them throughout the year. I know that these were produced by Wedgwood for the business annually between the late 1800s and the first quarter or so of the 20th century, each with a calendar on one side and an image of a Boston or Cambridge MA landmark on the other.  Personally I think this is the best one of all, featuring Jones McDuffee and Stratton's building at the corner of Franklin and Hawley St. in downtown Boston, designed by Peters and Rice Architects, which was later incorporated into the original Filene's Department Store! Quite a piece of Boston history and just a great object.

4 3/4” x 3 3/8” x 1/4” and in good condition, with minor chips and roughness along the edges, which I think don't at all detract. With a hold near the top for hanging.
