Beautifully Crafted Antique Carved Wood and Woven Ash Splint Chair

Regular price $65.00

One sees doll chairs and benches in this manner around these parts from time to time--usually referred to as Adirondack- but I don't think I've ever seen one as lovely as perfectly aged as this one, which feels like pure sculpture to me. Late-ish 19th century I believe, the frame of the chair was carved in pieces with tiny nails used to secure them where the pieces meet, with bent twigs for the sides and woven ash splint I believe for the back and seat. All is holding together perfectly with only to most minor of cracking to the splints, and the patina is really quite a beautiful thing.

7 5/8" t x 6 3/8" w x 5 1/4" and in excellent antique condition, sturdy and sound with the weave still tight.
