I love interlocking brass stencils, but even better when housed in this great looking old slide top box with "Stencil Outfit" stenciled on the lid, making one feel as if there is some important business to be done with them! I found it with a bunch of stencils inside, which I've complemented with a partial set I had sitting around, so there are quite a bunch here, though there are a few letters and numbers missing. Photos document the entire contents laid out across two photos, with the larger stencils producing letters that are 1 inch tall and the smaller letters that are 1/2" tall.
Box measures 7 3/4" long x 6 1/2" deep x 1 7/8" tall. Overall, larger stencils are 2 1/2" tall and smaller 2" tall. Some have never been used, others show some rusting to the brass but all are totally useable and interlock. The box, with finger jointed corners, shows age but is in good, sturdy shape with the lid sliding smoothly.
