Masury's Liquid Colors, Gorgeous c. 1915 Century Paint Color Card

Regular price $85.00

The mix of colors here, the quality of the samples, the gloss to the surfaces--just completely gorgeous. And  this "Liquid Color Card" is a scarce, old one. According to most sources, Masury's was founded in Brooklyn in the 1840s by John W. Masury (1820–1895), who revolutionized the 19th-century paint industry by pioneering ready-mixed paints and inventing the "dripless" paint can with a lip-closure. My dating is based on the "record of 80 years" claim on the card and citation of 1835 as the establishment date--though this would mean Masury was 15 years old...advertising is everything! Anyways, c. 1910s-20s.

Open: 6 1/2" x 5 1/4". Just samples showing 5 1/4" x 3 1/8". Very good condition, a few light scuffs but no loss, colors rich and super lush, all the better for the age.
