Seated Woman in Profile Mid-Century Relief Carving

Regular price $60.00

The soundtrack playing in my head when I look at this carving is Dolly Parton singing 9 to 5-- her posture, and the combination of outstretched fingers on one hand and the other raised to her temple, suggest that she's endured a day, or quite a few, but still she looks quite self-possessed, as if perhaps plotting to overthrow the system! Maybe that's just me, but pretty hard not to project a story onto this one I think, perfectly posed between sofa and ottoman, with great details from that sculptural hair to bangled wrists to fancy heels.

5 1/2" l x 3 1/4" t x 15/16" deep. Very good condition, varnished, with a little dirt/dust in crevices that I have not touched. 1960s or so I would guess.
