Pure joy and delight finding this one yesterday in New Hampshire--I'm just sorry that photos don't do justice to this fabulous red flying squirrel! The box is an old wooden cigar box, left in tact but for the lid which was very energetically carved into all over (and colored with some crayon markings too), with the squirrel the marvelous focal point, its front paws about to hit one edge and its hind leg and fluffy tail the other. On its back is written "Linda," whose name appears inside the box too, along with a few others; whether Linda was the carver or the squirrel, I can't say for sure! Pretty fabulous I think, and with an old piece of hardened bubble gum stuck to the bottom! I do imagine quite a lot of found treasures have been stashed inside of this one.
8 3/4” x 5 3/8” x 2 5/8” and in very good condition, box sturdy and sound with hinges well attached.
