Such a special one, I think! Hard to know which of this proud shopkeepers of William Bliss scrawled the note at the bottom of the front of this real photo postcard from 1906, but what a wonderful proclamation, and how poised and ready for business these six look! I tried searching for records of a William Bliss store in Whitman, MA, where it seems this postcard originated, but while I found many families with the name of Bliss in these parts, I didn't turn up anything about the store, which appears to have been a grocery or general store (I think I spy bundles of asparagus and an artful display of canned goods through the window at left.) At any rate, it fills me with joy to look at this, and the photograph itself is beautiful--sharp and crisp and just right.

5 3/8" x 3 3/8". Three postmarks on reverse. A little bump to the bottom left corner but overall very good condition.
