Antique Folk Art Watercolor Drawing of Fancy Woman with Bustle Skirt

Regular price $45.00

I purchased this and a second naive watercolor drawing of an Indian chief, surely by the same maker, from a seller in Pennsylvania, who found them tucked in the back of a late 19th century scrapbook. Their maker certainly had a way with color and wonderful details, in this case from her fabulous feathered hat to her little yellow parasol to those terrific blue boots! And then that little pencil drawn pocket and not one but two bows on her bustle skirt.

Executed on natural colored paper. It appears that the painting was cutout and glued onto a backing, which features some pencil sketching and collaged on piece along one edge. on top. 8 1/4" t x 3 5/6" w. The paper shows some wear and age, all to the good I think in this case.
