Japanese Wrapping Cloth: Utagawa Hiroshige "Sanjo Ohashi at Keishi" (Arriving at Kyoto)

Sale price $10.00 Regular price $18.00

One of my favorite things hanging on my own walls is a striking vintage Japanese furoshiki, or wrapping cloth, which I mounted in a simple white frame. This one, which features an image by Utagawa Hiroshige of people on a bridge with mountains in the background, is absolutely frame-worthy as well—or, of course, also great for wrapping a gift, as is its traditional purpose, while also being a gift in itself.  (Thinking of Mother Earth as we give, how about loving our loved ones and the planet by buying vintage only and wrapping everything in cloth?!) Or wear it as a scarf!

Made of a crepe-type fabric, rayon I believe, it measures 27x27” and is in excellent condition.
